8th Open World TaeKwon-Do Championships

Many congratulations to Jordan from Essential TKD Blackbelt Academies, who competed in the 8th Open TaeKwon-Do Tournament held at the National Indoor Arena on July 1st 2007.

The tournament started at 10.30 and began with an opening ceremony! It was great to see Jordan walk out with the England Teams...!!!

Jordan entered into both the Sparring and Pattern division, and as usual put 110% into each event.

The style of TKD was very different to what Jordan was used to seeing but he remained unphased! Jordan reached the Final Round of the Patterns performing Do-San and Won-Hyo in front of the HUGE crowd at the National Indoor Arena. Unfortunately he did not place in the Top 3, however he performed his patterns excellently and made no mistakes!

The Sparring was very fast with a lot of contact! In his first round Jordan fought back from 6-2 behind to secure a place in the second round! In the second round Jordan came up against an older competitor with a height and weight advantage (Jordan was one of the smallest in his category). Jordan received a heavy blow under the belt within the first few minutes, he then suffered a heavy blow to the chest! Jordan fought on bravely, but unfortunately he did not make it past the second round.

Jordan did exceptionally well considering his category had over 30 competitors including himself!

We are all very proud of you Jordan for your achievements in TaeKwon-Do! Keep up the hard work!

HONG KONG WATCH OUT......JORDAN IS COMING...!!!!!
